Club 2010 Season
The
On behalf of the Pine Needles Member's Committee and the Boudreau family I would like to welcome current and new members to Pine Needles Golf & Country Club for a great 2010 golf season.
This will be my first year as President of the Members Committee so I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Members Committee Executives' and the members who volunteered their time to help. I would like to offer special thanks to André LeBlanc for his excellent work as Club President for the past 2 years. If you are interested in volunteering for assisting with tournaments or other activities, please let any of us know or sign up at the clubhouse.
Although 2009 was a very wet summer, I would like to offer Nadine and her team a special thanks for keeping the course in excellent playing shape despite the rain - job well done.
The Committee was very happy to provide continued support to Julie Boudreau and the fundraiser for the South-East NB Food Banks as well as to Barb Goguen for her work with Fore the Cure.
As a committee, we are looking forward to a fantastic golf summer filled with numerous tournaments and activities such as match play, senior tour for men & ladies, Past President's cup competition for the men, and Fore the Cure competition for the ladies. Couples events are also a returning favorite with great food and prizes. Furthermore, our Junior Coordinator will have numerous activities for our juniors including field days, clinics, and tournaments. Please watch for posters inside the clubhouse or ask any of the executive members for more information.
A taste of something new? We will be introducing a new tournament for our male seniors: a Seniors? Invitational which will be held on June 29th, 2010.
Starting in early June, Ladies' night will continue to be held on Tuesday evenings while the Men's nights will also continue on Wednesday evenings. Two combined ladies and men's nights will be held beforehand. Everyone is welcomed to join us for 9 holes of golf of various formats coupled with discussions on the rules of golf, prizes, and food..
As a result of heavy rains, 2009 was a difficult year for our tournaments. The course was at times unplayable and forced us to cancel the Lobster tournament and cut the Club Championship from 2 days to 1 day. I would like to thank our major sponsor for 2009: Molson breweries, Waite?s Garage, Moosehead breweries, Aboiteau fisheries, Seaside Chevrolet, Lou-Dor Ventures, Dupuis Printing, Moncton Chrysler Superstore, and Gaudet & Sons Supermarket. I would also like to thank all the other sponsors who donated prizes as door prizes for our tournaments and activities. If you would like to sponsor any tournaments or activities in any way next year, please contact me. We hope to make 2010 the best year yet.
As your representatives, we want to promote & enhance all golf activities and tournaments at Pine Needles.
